Monitoring bivariate processes with synthetic control charts based on sample ranges

چکیده

Abstract The RMAX chart was proposed to control the covariance matrix of two quality characteristics. monitoring statistic is maximum standardized sample ranges from bivariate observations In this article, we investigate performance synthetic charts. first signals when a second point, not far one, falls beyond warning limit. additionally point charts are compared with standard and generalized variance S chart. best option detect moderate or even small changes in matrix. To large matrix, additional run rules necessary.

Monitoring Industrial Processes with Robust Control Charts

• The Shewhart control charts, used for monitoring industrial processes, are the most popular tools in Statistical Process Control (SPC). They are usually developed under the assumption of independent and normally distributed data, an assumption rarely true in practice, and implemented with estimated control limits. But in general, we essentially want to control the process mean value and the p...

Nonparametric Control Charts for Bivariate High-quality Processes

For attribute data with (very) low rates of defectives, attractive control charts can be based on the maximum of subsequent groups of r failure times, for some suitable r ≥ 1, like r = 5. Such charts combine good performance with often highly needed robustness, as they allow a nonparametric adaptation already for Phase I samples of ordinary size. In the present paper we address the problem of e...

Weighted CUSUM Control Charts for Monitoring Inhomogeneous Poisson Processes with Varying Sample Sizes

Monitoring inhomogeneous Poisson processes with varying sample sizes has attracted considerable attention recently in both industrial quality control and public health surveillance. One of the key challenges in these applications is that a change in incidence rate may be masked by changes of sample sizes. The conventional Poisson cumulative sum (CUSUM) chart designed for detecting a pre-specifi...

Monitoring and Diagnosing Multistage Processes: A Review of Cause Selecting Control Charts

A review of the literature on cause selecting charts (CSCs) in multistage processes is given, with a concentration on developments which have occurred since 1993. Model based control charts and multiple cause selecting charts (MCSCs) are reviewed. Several articles based on normally and non-normally distributed outgoing quality characteristics are analyzed and important issues such as economic d...

Synthetic-Type Control Charts for Time-Between-Events Monitoring

This paper proposes three synthetic-type control charts to monitor the mean time-between-events of a homogenous Poisson process. The first proposed chart combines an Erlang (cumulative time between events, Tr ) chart and a conforming run length (CRL) chart, denoted as Synth-Tr chart. The second proposed chart combines an exponential (or T) chart and a group conforming run length (GCRL) chart, d...
